The Greenhouse Schools Project is a charity that uses sports and arts programmes to teach 11-16 year olds life and social skills. They especially target children who are experiencing difficulties with learning and behaviour or who are living with a disability.
The Challenge On 12th July 2007 three people from the Lawn Tennis Assocation (LTA) Brigid, Nicole and John will attempt the Three Peak Challenge to raise £3,500 for The Greenhouse Schools Project. The National Three Peaks Challenge is a mountain endurance test where we will attempt to climb the three highest peaks of of the UK in less than 24 hours. The mountains to be climbed, are Ben Nevis in Western Scotland (1344 m), Scafell Pike in North-Western England (978 m) and Snowdon in North Wales (1085 m).
The Team The walkers are Brigid Macdonald, Nicole Seneque and John Howard.Kevan Taylor will be driving us about 450 miles!.Mark Ackroyd will be helping us with a training plan.
The Route
The planned routes that we will be taking on are:
Ben Nevis: Mountain Track - Starts at visitor centre in Glen Nevis
Scafell Pike: From Wasdale Head via Lingmel Col
Snowdon: Llanberis path from Llanberis (or PYG track from Pen Y Pass - this will be confirmed shortly)
